Congratulations, your loan is paid off! If it has been more than 30 days since the loan was paid off, please contact us @ (855) 282-6353 Monday-Thursday 8am to 10pm, Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, or chat with us in your Best Egg account Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–9:00 pm ET, Friday 8:00 am–7:00 pm ET, or Saturday 9:00 am–6:00 pm ET. We will confirm the payoff date and if the lien was released due to timeframes varying by state and payment method.
- For certified check, dealer check, or insurance check – The title is released 7 days after the payment posts to your account.
- For all other payment methods – The title is released 17 days after the payment posts to your account.
If your vehicle is titled in (AZ, CA, CO, GA, ID, LA, MA, NC, NE, NV, MI, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, KS, NJ, WI or WA), the state may hold your title electronically. The state will mail your title once Best Egg releases the lien. Please contact your state for its mailing time frames after the lien has been released.
If your vehicle is titled in (FL or OH), the state may hold your title electronically. Once Best Egg processes the lien release, visit a local title-issuing office or contact your state’s website to obtain your title.
If your vehicle is titled in (AL, AR, DE, IL, IN, ME, MS, NM, ND, OR, TN, UT, WY), after Best Egg processes the lien release, we’ll mail the title with the lien released to the address we have on file. Please allow additional time for mailing.
If your vehicle is titled in (KY, MO, NY, MD, MN, MT, OK), you will receive a title with the company lien from the DMV right after the lien is placed, which can take up to 90 days. Once the lien is released, you will receive a state issued lien release document from Best Egg which can be taken to the DMV to have a clean title issued with no lien holder.
Important: Once the lien is released, we cannot "re-release" a title. Please contact your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles for further assistance.
Please Note: The title is released to whomever paid off the loan. For example, if the payoff was received by the dealer or insurance company, then the title would be released to them. If your loan was paid off by a 3rd party, please contact them for timeframe guidance and assistance about how to acquire your title.
