Great question! First, Best Egg is not the creditor of your account. Best Egg® accounts are originated or issued by the bank whose name is listed on your account agreement (the “original creditor”).
It’s common for loan and credit card accounts to be sold after they are originated, in which case the purchaser becomes the creditor. The debt validation notice identifies the name of current creditor to whom the debt is owed, which may be an entity that purchased your account.
As the servicing agent of your Best Egg account, we continue to manage the day-to-day tasks associated with it, like receiving and processing your payments, communicating with you, and providing customer service, on behalf of the current creditor.
